GPS Data

In the last few years, the need for mobility-related data has greatly increased.

Traffic counting stations or traffic surveys give a very detailed punctual information but have limits related to time the space.

Thanks to the European Cycling Challenge is now possible to overcome this limitation and to approach the planning of new cycling infrastructure in a new and innovative way.

Crowdsourced GPS data

Throughout the month of May, keeping track of trips by bike through the Cycling365 App, cyclists will provide - in anonymous way - useful and important information on their real use of roads. They will give answer to the “where and when people cycle in the city” question, provide a significant origin/destination matrix giving detailed information about which way people are riding from origin to destination, and drawing the cycle heatmap of their city.

The European Cycling Challenge is a new approach to planning and monitoring your cycle city.

Enroll your city and get technical benefits from the campaign.
