Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic, a country situated in the heart of Europe. At the same time it is the largest city in Czech with one million and two thousand inhabitants and the fourth most visited city in Europe. Prague is located in the north-west of the country on the Vltava River.  Along the river there is also a beautiful historical city centre with many narrow streets surrounding the Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral, which bring you to the famous Charles Bridge.

Prague has not arisen in a flat landscape; on the contrary there are many hills and steep ascents there. The city is not comfortable for cyclists at all, but it enables wonderful views over the city. Green parks, nature areas, river islands and waterfront create together a pleasant place for life.

Thanks to an effective public city transport, 44 percent of citizen use this mode of transport for commuting to work. 26 percent of Prague inhabitants walk and only 2 percent ride a bike while moving through the city. Prague municipality in cooperation with local NGOs encourage people to use sustainable mode of transport. Every year hundreds of people all over Prague join the campaign Bike to work, Big Spring Critical Mass or European mobility week.

Now we are ready to compete with all European cities in European cycle challenge J
